page 21 - A Noir Meeting

I took some shots from some classic noir films for these panels, the feeling that’s possible with shadows in b/w film can be amazing! And also, meet Kitty.

    Wow, beautiful.

Each week just gets better than the last.

  2. Uthor Says:

Man, the colors in that first panel. Wow.

  3. Chrig Says:

    Too cool.

Check out a cinematographer named Karl Freund. He worked on a lot of classic films like ‘Metropolis’, ‘Dracula’, ‘The Mummy’ and ‘Mad Love’ and had a real good eye for interesting compositions with shadows.

The first panel alone could easily be turned into a T-shirt design (something for APE, perhaps?).

    dag.
madly beautiful. i’ve never gotten watercolors to surrender that edgy, girl-in-the-alley shadows, but you pulled it off one-hundred percent. gold stars abound!
