APE was great! The Weird Fishes VS. Outstanding Comics booth went off very well, we had great neighbors and met a lot of neat people. I’m always a bit surprised when being in a giant room of friends I never see except for once a year, artists I admire like crazy, people who I’d never expect to know who I am, animation pros who’re happy to look at my stuff, and a generally huge amount of positive people who love comics! I got to meet Dame Darcy and buy a hand-painted eye sleeping mask from her, meet Meredith Gran who recognized me immediately, get visited by the fine folks from Ghostbot, have Michael Manning and Barron Storey visit our booth at the same time, get uplifting feedback from Allen Spiegel, trade t-shirts with Tristan Crane, hear that my comic print is lookin’ good at Jennifer’s office at SLG, and I saw so many faces and friends I couldn’t even recollect them all.  

The book almost sold out, I have leftover spray painted tshirts that I’ll be putting up on Etsy later this week, and some cute button packs that’ll be available to order shortly. 

For the next couple weeks I’ll be working to finish a very special comic for Dark Horse’s Myspace Presents that’ll appear online by the end of the year, so Weird Fishes is going on hiatus for a little while. Some good feedback I heard at APE was to keep my stories contained, so the next chapter is going to be something that can be enjoyed on it’s own, but for regular readers it’ll continue on from where we left off.  

Thanks to everyone who stopped by my booth this weekend! And if you live in the US, do not disappoint the world today by being a lazy douche.

We’re located at table 112 (under the name Walker, Dyer, Foti and Finch, LLC, Industrial Solutions and Comics… a corporate firm which, sadly, died shortly after it’s creation, but the comics still seem to be popular) and hope you’ll stop by! I’m merchandising all week and you won’t be disappointed with what you’ll find!
